New Opioid Lecture is Available!

International Overdose Awareness Day is a global event held Aug 31 each year to remember those gone too soon from overdose death. Sadly, our own country’s opioid epidemic has worsened due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. In response to this crisis, over two-thirds of states now require opioid CME for license renewal.

Podiatry is doing its part too!

To help combat the worsening epidemic, this first-of-its-kind educational opioid guide was created by podiatrists not only to reduce the opioid reservoir phenomenon (the accumulation of unused postoperative opioids from excessive prescriptions) but to educate our residents and help establish a standard of care for common procedures done within our profession.

This guide details national averages of opioids prescribed postoperatively, as well as 10 principles of opioid prescribing practice in foot and ankle surgery.

To learn more about these 10 fundamental principles, a 1 hour (1 CECH) Opioid Lecture is now available in the Lecture Hall at Podiatry.com. Click Below
